She took care of my sister and of the family, too. I felt Andrea was very trustworthy in handling my sister’s care.
I got notified that my sister was getting admitted to labor and delivery. I got to the hospital as soon as I could. From the moment I arrived at the Women’s and Baby Hospital, everyone from reception to dietary was very attentive and friendly. The entire team was very compassionate and helpful. I knew my sister was in great hands. Out of everyone, Andrea Nemeth, RN, was outstanding and very informative. She was engaged, involved, and knowledgeable in every aspect of the process involving labor and delivery, which we all knew little about. She made sure we understood what was happening now and what the next step ahead was. She was respectful of my sister’s wishes, and she made her feel comfortable and heard. My sister trusted Andrea, all the way through the end of the birth of my nephew. Even though Andrea was orienting another RN, she made sure to include all of us in every conversation and procedure. Andrea is an asset to your organization, and I know a fantastic, cheerleading, and fun nurse when I see one! She made us laugh even in very nervous moments. She took care of my sister and of the family, too. I felt Andrea was very trustworthy in handling my sister’s care. I cannot thank her enough and the entire staff thank you very much!
Be Compassionate: I serve with my head and heart.
Andrea served us with her heart during my nephew’s birthday. She was very sweet and pleasant to us, she answered all of our questions.
Be Present: I show up and remain engaged.
Andrea was very engaged and attentive to my sister’s needs and requests, and I couldn’t have asked for a better nurse.
Be Empowered: I drive results with intention.
Andrea is the definition of this value right here! She is empowered through her ability to create a safe space and yet fun experiences for everyone. She explained why she needed to do everything she did! This helped calm our nerves and anxiety.
Be Collaborative: I partner with unwavering support.
Andrea provided excellent support to us and the team. She explained the process of getting an epidural from start to finish very well and used terms that were easy to understand. She was a very great team player and a leader.
Be Accountable: I commit to every single moment.
Every single moment Andrea gave us 100% of her time, attention, positive and fun energy! There was a moment when my sister needed to switch positions, but her legs were numb from the epidural. Andrea was able to quick assist and guide my sister to reposition her, it wasn’t as easy as it sounds but Andrea is so good at her job that she managed to stay calm and keep us calm and help my sister reposition.
Overall, Andrea gave us a great pt /family experience! If we return for round 3, I hope we get the same team assigned to us and especially Andrea Nemeth! Your organization is lucky to have this talented Registered Nurse! You should be PROUD Penn Medicine!
Note: This is Andrea's 2nd DAISY Award!
