Andrea was always so kind and encouraging during my stay. I am breastfeeding my newborn and expressed grief that I would have to stop doing that due to post-op medications. Andrea asked my permission and called the pharmacist to request a visit to discuss what would be safe. She had me page her when the pharmacist arrived so that she could take notes for me, which she gave me to keep. She asked him questions about alternative medications that would be safe to take while breastfeeding (questions and language that I don't have the education to ask).
She also made me a priority by coming to take my vitals personally as much as possible and asked the PA more questions in medical terms and made sure to 'translate' for me during the conversation, which turned out to be quite helpful in discovering breastfeeding friendly alternatives.
