June 2022 Honoree
Andrea Trout, RN
In early 2022, Andi was one of the nurses for a patient who was treated at Lutheran Hospital for nine days. This patient was here with Thrombotic Microangiopathy which resulted in a below-the-knee amputation. During his stay, the patient suffered severe mental and emotional trauma as well as physical. Though no family member was there for him, Andi showed so much caring and compassion that it made up for the lack of relatives.
“I don’t know what I would’ve done if Andi had not pulled me out of my depression and given me the hope and motivation to fight my way through this,” the patient stated, “Please tell her that I will never forget what she did for me.” Andi’s manager and director also stated, “If I or someone I loved was in the hospital, I would want Andi to be my nurse. She is so patient and kind.”

Thank you, Andrea, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
