April 2026 Honoree
Andrea Walker 2026, RN
I came to the hospital to have a POEM surgery. After the recovery room, I was sent to my room. As I was being transferred to the bed, I was told I was having a heart attack.
The nurse in charge, Andrea Walker, had the Rapid Response Team waiting for me. She let me know what was happening with the most calming and caring voice and face. She stayed by my side, gave me medication, and let me know things were going to happen fast—but not to worry, that the team was there for me.
She had the most angelic smile and loving expression on her face. I knew I was in amazing hands. I truly felt calm come over my body and felt at peace. She was my angel from God.
I will always remember this until the day God takes me home. Thank you for such amazing nurses and team players. I will never forget how I felt when the team saved my life.
God bless Andrea Walker.
