Andrew was nominated for just one example of his compassionate and kind care.

 “After Andrew caught up on all his work, he took the time to pull a chair up next to a patient’s concerned husband and visited with him for about 45 minutes. Andrew demonstrated what it means to be a compassionate and caring nurse. Most other nurses would not have dedicated that amount of time to visiting with family. Andrew does a great job!”

His direct manager added, “This is the art of nursing, and I applaud you for taking the time with this patient. Thank you.”

In addition to the recognition above, Andrew goes above and beyond every day. He’s been with us for years, but initially started as a monitor tech and now has become a known resource for the house. Not only does he serve his primary unit, he is happy to float to our Medical Unit and the Emergency Department as needed.

Andrew is one of those nurses who is always well-received by the units that need help. He is skilled and knowledgeable, but also very kind and compassionate with his patients and coworkers.

He exemplifies teamwork and always makes the time to go the extra mile. I wish we could clone him!
