In recognition of our coworker, Andrew, we are nominating him for his endless compassion, kindness, and genuine, consistent care of nursing approach.  His sincerity adds to each of his patients and co-workers' experiences.  He continuously gets positive comments from patients and families noted in Press Ganey comments.  This is no surprise as he emulates what a true nurse means.  He is also an excellent preceptor, sharing knowledge in a supportive, non-judgmental way.  He can care for the most critical patient while including families and collaborating with providers and coworkers in the best interest of the patient.  He is at the bedside meeting patient’s emotional and physical needs, all while conversing on a person-to-person human touch level.  He definitely makes a difference and reflects, no doubt, the original ideation of honoring a DAISY caregiver.  He offers hope and faith needed for a patient and/or family to get through even the worst day of someone’s life, which is often witnessed in the critical care, fast-paced, emergent environment of the ER setting where life versus death is a focal point.  We are proud to work alongside such a unique person and nurse as Andrew.  Nursing and family are his true calling.
