I would like to recognize Andy for providing extraordinary care for my grandpa during his stay at Spencer Hospital. My grandpa was admitted to the hospital during a blizzard we had in late February and was unable to fly out to Sioux Falls right away. My grandpa had recently been diagnosed with a terminal cancer diagnosis and was in incredible pain from kidney/liver failure. Andy worked quickly and diligently to get my grandpa's pain under control so he could be more comfortable during his stay. Andy did his best to help with any requests that my grandpa had, whether it was providing more blankets to keep him warm or trying to find a solution to keep his pain at bay. My grandpa was happy that he was assigned to Andy as his patient for two shifts in a row, so he got to have him as his nurse almost his entire stay until he got flown out to Sioux Falls. It was clear that Andy cared for my grandpa and wanted to do all that he could to help take care of him. Andy's willingness to go above and beyond to help out made a huge impression on my grandpa and the rest of our family. My grandpa spoke very highly of Andy once he returned home on Hospice and mentioned that we were so fortunate to have him as a nurse at Spencer Hospital. Thank you, Andy, from the bottom of my heart, for caring for my grandpa during such a difficult time. You are a wonderful coworker and caregiver!
