On Saturday I was on my roof clearing gutters when I saw Andrew at a neighbor's house raking and bagging pine needles. This neighbor is an elderly man that takes much pride in his yard. He is out almost every day weeding and raking.
Apparently, the neighbor is now a patient on Andrew's unit, and Andrew had gone over to the man's house after his shift to weed and rake. Andrew was also trying to complete the task before the patient's family arrived so that they would not know who was doing the yard work. This speaks volumes to Andrew's kindness and commitment to his patients that he wants to do something so important for the patient all the while making sure that he does not get recognized for it. Sorry Andrew, but we cannot abide that, you should be recognized for your act of kindness!
