March 2013 Honoree
andy oliver, RN
Receiving a pediatric code is a rarity in the Emergency Department. On a recent early morning, ED staff got the emergent call that an infant was en route. The Saint Agnes ED Coordinator contacted the House Supervisor on duty, Andy Oliver, who is also an ED Coordinator at Children's Hospital Central California.
Using his expertise in this high-intensity situation, Andy proved to be a key resource to nurses and physicians. He was instrumental in speaking with the family and coordinating spiritual care, and despite having other House Supervisor tasks, Andy remained with the family. "Andy held true to the Saint Agnes Core Values, displayed great leadership and compassion, and exemplified relationship-based care," his colleague and nominator said.

Thank you, Andy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
