Anel Gonzalez played an important part in the journey of the newly admitted patient experiencing an emotional-mental health disruption by identifying a patient/family connection and providing this connection to the healthcare team. Anel was instrumental in helping the health care team with discharge planning that was beneficial not only to the patient but also to the family. Anel went beyond the typical student role and made a difference by demonstrating compassionate care with human spirit and kindness while the patient and family were at the height of emotion and vulnerability by providing this vital connection.

Thanks to Anel's efforts in acknowledging and being proactive in regard to outside information for vital patient care at Seven Hills Hospital, Anel played a key part in a particular patient's case and discharge planning.
