I was admitted to the neuro unit after a very long day. I was frail with a recently fractured leg and decline from my neurological disease. I was nervous and exhausted. Angel immediately met me for admission to the unit. He gave me the impression that he was knowledgeable, in control and I felt safe in his care. Angel gave clear instructions on what I could and could not do to stay as safe as possible. He was friendly yet clear. I slept right through the insert of the IV and I’m a very hard stick. Angel seemed to be close by my room his entire shift and I felt so safe and calm. He was so professional and I even felt comfortable with him helping me get to the restroom. He is a top notch nurse who I wish I could multiply. A big shout out to my favorite nurse Angel!

Angel was a favorite of my mother’s. He made her laugh and she says he always had applesauce to make her pills taste better. His calm and funny nature made her smile.

Throughout my time, he was extremely attentive, knowledgeable and thorough when explaining medications and/or procedures. I am aware that this is a challenging profession of high demand workload but he arrived with a friendly face, which made a world of difference. He displayed great empathy and a person-centered care approach which to me shows great qualities and characteristics of a great nurse. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
