We had an add-on surgery patient. When the patient arrived, Angel knew the patient's daughter, who owns a small local business. The patient did not want to be in the hospital or have surgery. The patient and his daughter spoke with the nephrologist and the surgeon prior to us doing anything.
The patient agreed to proceed with the surgery; we proceeded with getting the patient ready. His daughter's phone battery was dead; we had a charger for her to borrow until he went to surgery. Angel had left work as her shift had ended. She drove through uptown Shelby and noticed the patient's daughter store. The daughter had left so suddenly to get to the hospital with her dad that she left a clothing rack with clothes on the sidewalk but had locked her store.
Angel attempted to contact her, but her phone was dead. She called her fellow coworkers and we were able to tell her the patient went to five east. Angel collected the items from the sidewalk, drove to the hospital and located the daughter to return the items. She prevented these items from being damaged or stolen. Angel went above and beyond to help a patient and family member, as she does every day. This is Angel.
