I was contacted by the MICU charge nurse regarding a LifeLink flag-raising ceremony for a patient in MICU. The family was large and predominately Spanish speaking and they did not have a Spanish-speaking chaplain available. I was asked if I had someone willing to translate the ceremony for the family. Angel did not hesitate to take this on. He was given a copy of the script that was to be read and with the help of another team member, began to write a translation of it so that he was prepared and so the family could all have the same experience. He stood with the chaplain and delivered his words effortlessly. I am grateful that he was able to make this ceremony meaningful for all the family members present.
