Angela Barry, Registered Midwife

Angela came to read traces during both my labours (in 2019 and 2021). My first labour was tricky — very long and my son had shoulder dystocia — and Angela made sure to come back not long after I had given birth and talk through what had happened. She rightly realized it could have been a traumatizing experience and took the time to answer all our questions, explain exactly what had happened, and reassure me there was nothing I could have done differently. Thanks to Angela, I felt very positive about the care I'd received and went on to have another baby without being unduly anxious about the birth. To see her again during my second labour was so reassuring and she made us laugh by correctly guessing the sex of the babies from the traces both times. Lots of midwives and doctors contributed to the excellent care I received at Homerton but Angela went above and beyond.
