To help complete strangers through some of the most difficult times of their lives is the foundation of what makes a great nurse.
Angela consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, demonstrating exceptional care, compassion, and dedication in all that she does. Angela's commitment to her patients is truly remarkable. She always takes the time to listen to their concerns, answer their questions, and address their needs with a kind and caring demeanor. She goes the extra mile to ensure that her patients receive the highest quality of care, and her attention to detail and thoroughness in her work is truly commendable. Angela has a genuine passion for nursing and a heart of gold. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to her colleagues and is a true team player. Her positive attitude and infectious smile brighten the days of those around her, and she is an inspiration to all who have the privilege of working with her.

She has moved into a role now as the stroke coordinator for the hospital, which she has done an amazing job with, I might add, but I wanted to take the time to talk about a recent stroke patient. A patient came into the ER, and when Angela heard the stroke alert paged out, she immediately got up from her office to help the team with the stroke, like so many patients before, because that's the true leader that she is. She helped this patient and family through one of the most difficult times as they decided to give their loved one TNK to help resolve the stroke. This event happened on a Friday, and as many nurses do, she took this case home with her, thinking about it all weekend and how that patient was doing. Monday morning, the first thing she did once arriving at work was she went to the floor to see this patient, just to check in on her and her family. She then made it a mission to go see this patient every day throughout her stay in the hospital. I went with her to see the patient and family one day, and the joy that the patient and family member had on their face when they saw Angela coming in to give a big hug was a reminder to me why we all do this job. To help complete strangers through some of the most difficult times of their lives is the foundation of what makes a great nurse.

In conclusion, Angela Burton is a shining example of what it means to be a nurse. Her dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to her patients make her truly deserving of the DAISY Award. I wholeheartedly recommend her for this honor.
