Angela Carnevale exemplifies the positive qualities that every nurse should strive for.
She is patient and kind, compassionate and empathetic. Angela is a natural leader, each night encouraging teamwork and efficiency, making herself available to us to answer questions, demonstrate particular tasks, and to provide encouragement when our best efforts are still not enough.
Whether she is here in her role as charge nurse of the ICU, or filling in as administrative coordinator, I feel more comfortable knowing she is present and available should I need her. With her experience, Angela takes every opportunity to share her knowledge with her co-workers. She is a patient educator, taking into account our various levels of experience.
Where other's nerves may get the best of them, Angela remains calm and in control, and
in doing so helps to create an atmosphere free of the chaos that may otherwise
have ensued. Angela encourages each of us to be our best for our patients and each
other. The Intensive Care Unit is truly better for having her here.
