I was rounding on a patient on day shift when he told me about an RN who had cared for him the past few days.He said that Angie would always come in with a smile and that she brightened his day.He told me he had been feeling down after several hospital stays and that Angie ordered one of his favorite foods on his birthday. She also gave him a big hug and wished him well on his discharge day.He grinned from ear to ear when he told me this and became teary-eyed. Angie really went above and beyond and made thatspecial connection with this patient.
