My only memory of being admitted into TNICU was Angela D. She would do my neuro checks and spoke so softly when she came to check on me. She made me feel safe. She made sure I knew what was going on with my treatment. She would talk me through each thing and tell me what was happening every step of the way. I wasn't able to open my eyes, but her voice will forever be with me. She would push my hair off my face and speak with me like I was a human, not just another patient. She took care of me on my worst days. I wasn't able to have my family at my bedside at night, but I had Angela and she made up for it. She did not rush or get mad when I couldn't answer questions right away. She kept me grounded and kept me feeling safe. I don't remember much but I will never forget Angela and her soft voice speaking to me. I will never forget her soft hands gently checking my head. I will never forget how passionately she cared for me in my time of need. I will forever be grateful for everything she did for me.
