The Hospital for Sick Children

Angela is an amazing manager who has made a huge and valuable impact on the Pre-Op, Pre-Anesthesia Clinic, and PACU department. She deserves to be recognized as a Nurse Leader because of her ability to successfully motivate staff to participate in hospital initiatives, her continuous support in mentoring staff and allowing them to grow within the department, and her commitment to breaking down barriers between the units she oversees. Angela is dedicated to achieving better patient outcomes by ensuring staff has dedicated time to work on unit initiatives to improve our Staff Engagement results such as Infection Control, Job Satisfaction, and Training/Development, etc. Angela is personable, present and approachable and is always there to support her staff on the unit. She is passionate about what she does, and it shows. Not only has she been extremely supportive in facilitating the transition of the Pre-Op and PACU cross-training initiative, but she also played a huge role in planning and celebrating a successful Peri-Anesthesia Nurses Week that made all staff feel appreciated and included. If you ask any of the nurses on our unit, you will hear that we are so grateful to have Angela as our interim Clinical Manager and feel that for these reasons and more, she truly is a DAISY Nurse Leader!
