Angela saved my breastfeeding journey with my firstborn. I came to the ER with really bad mastitis after one month with baby. I was told if I couldn’t get the clog out, I would need surgery or worse, lose a breast. After being admitted to Cascade, Angela was a lifesaver. She empowered me to keep nursing even with antibiotics due to medical knowledge and facts as a lactation expert. Prior to Angela, I was told I may have to stop nursing if I needed surgery. I’d have to let my milk run dry. She told me that wasn’t the case and that there would be a way to keep nursing if I wanted. She was the only expert when others were clueless about lactation. She helped me massage my clog every 2-3 hours for almost two days. Finally, we saw progress and she helped me forgive myself for being hard on myself as a new mom and reminded me to give myself grace. She was caring, nurturing and extremely knowledgeable. I was lost and scared until I was in her care. She deserves recognition for her amazing work and standard of care.
