Angela Garza  was my nurse when I was admitted to the Women's Assessment Center at Texas Children's Hospital Pavilion for Women for fetal monitoring. My trip to the Women's Assessment Center was very unexpected and highly stressful for me, but Angela brought so much peace and comfort to the room with her presence. She acted quickly to address my needs and concerns, yet demonstrated incredible patience at the same time. Angela was very attentive throughout my admission, consistently checking in on me and keeping a watchful eye on my baby through fetal monitoring. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable at all times, and showed genuine interest in me as a person. The thing that set Angela apart the most was her compassion and empathy during the most stressful part of my visit. While trying to pick up my baby's heart rate on the fetal monitor upon being admitted, it took a while for us to hear anything. This had me very concerned about the possibility of miscarriage. Angela was prompt in seeking help from another staff member, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor, and she was incredibly validating of my feelings and heavy emotions, and very reassuring when they were able to pick up the heart rate. Because of Angela, I went from being stressed and overwhelmed to calm and at peace with my admission. Angela is so wonderful at what she does, goes above and beyond, and deserves all the recognition for a job well done!
