Angela Giacomini, RN
In October, I was being discharged after a heart Cath procedure.
My daughters went to the store, and I was taking a shower with Angela Giacomini by my side. I sat down after soaping and a horrible excruciating pain went running from my groin to halfway down my inner thigh and upward to upper right abdomen. I tried to stand and finally slowly did, but I thought I might pass out. My legs shook as I held onto the bar.
Angela, my nurse, grabbed me, put pressure on the wound, then threw my robe over me and called on her phone for help. Between her and an aide, dragging me, we got me out of the shower and into the bed. She never stopped putting pressure on my wound, telling me to breathe, and simultaneously saying "I'm sorry!".
Finally, another aide came to help her. This nurse was so quick thinking, never in any way backed off, and reassured me with so much compassion and caring until a doctor came to assume authority. This lady saved my life, doing so above and beyond her job.
She is my life-saving angel! Thank you, Angela.
