I wish to nominate Angela Hachey from the cardiac step-down unit. I was admitted from the ER to 1 West. I was in that room for three days. Angela’s shift was 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The first morning she came in, she was very pleasant. She explained she was my nurse and would be checking in on me from time to time. She would ask if I wanted to have her open or close blinds or doors, if would I like a refresher on ice water, or if I needed anything else. Some of the other things were how I was feeling, did I sleep okay, did I need a blanket or anything, etc. When providing shots she would explain what the shot was and why it was needed and then where would I like the shot (humor). Also, she explained any medicine that was provided. Angela was always professional, courteous, respectful, and caring and had some humor, which is always needed. I know I was the patient, and she made me feel like I was the patient, she always listened to my questions and then provided the answer. Note: One night around 7:25 pm, Angela stopped in as I assumed she was leaving for the night, and asked if I needed anything before she went home. I said thank you and you needed to go home; she came back with a refresh of ice water before leaving. The entire staff was excellent, and I enjoyed my visit (as much as I could). I thank you all for your services.
