Angela has worked tirelessly to ensure 3M has been able to execute new therapies that were previously impossible.
Angela Kravets is the clinical coordinator on 3M but functions above and beyond the requirements of her position. Angela is always working, whether she is present in the hospital or not. Angela has worked tirelessly to ensure 3M has been able to execute new therapies that were previously impossible. She was instrumental in executing the first 7+3 induction in several years and worked closely with administration to provide safe staffing levels. Angela also helped ensure the first HD MTX patient treated in years was done flawlessly. Both patients have achieved positive patient outcomes and paved the way to open more treatment opportunities for patients and professional development opportunities for staff.

Angela also passed her OCN exam and carries two certifications which further demonstrates her commitment to patient care. Angela made my transition to the unit as the educator very easy. She includes me in all of the unit activities and was welcoming to me in the UBC meeting. Angela has been the chair of the UBC for several years and also was nominated to serve on the NWESC by senior administration. Angela is 3M and her presence on the unit offers continuity, stability, and high-level patient care.

Angela has grown so much over the past year. She obtained her national certification in oncology nursing and was quickly able to apply her expertise to our growing oncology service line. She has served as a preceptor to many of our new nurses who are taking their biotherapy/chemotherapy certification. She was able to use this certification as our representative at the Magnet conference this year in Georgia. She was also chosen to be on a distinguished panel of nurses in the NWESC counsel ( Nursing Workforce Environment Staffing counsel) as a co-chair. She has developed oncology protocols for our patient population and was instrumental in the first induction of high-dose chemotherapy for an AML patient for which Holy Name has not seen in many years. She also worked closely with our medical oncologists on admission criteria to the new 3 Chadwick.

Angela participated in the PEP program here and achieved Level 3 status with her ongoing project of "opiate induced constipation protocol” and is currently doing work with our sickle cell population in terms of ensuring safe PCA narcotic infusions. She is an asset to our team and Holy Name as a whole. She is responsible for mentoring and coaching new staff and always takes an assignment to ensure safe patient ratios for our high dose chemo patients. During COVID, Angela was the first to step up and flex to 12 hour shifts and work the COVID unit. Her commitment to excellence, patient safety, coaching and mentoring novice nurses, commitment to advancing practices in oncology nursing, have proven her a leader among her peers. Her quick innovative mind brings new ideas to our Shared Governance for which she chairs and has allowed her fellow nurses to successfully complete their PEP through her guidance. Angela Kravets is a dedicated, empathetic, and compassionate nurse who has found her nitch in oncology. Her leadership as Clinical Coordinator stands out among the rest. I am proud to work with her.
