I was a patient from September 21st through October 10th. I am writing to tell you about the wonderful experience I had with one of your nurses, Angie Kuykendal. She is the perfect example of what my vision of what nurse should be. She is so caring, professional, and it shows that she really loves her job. My experience with her was like having a good friend care for me. She never left my room without asking if there was anything I wanted or needed. She stood out to me for these reasons plus I was unable to use the bathroom without assistance and when I would call for help she would take my arm and help me up and to the bathroom without asking. This seems like a small thing but honestly it was very comforting having her assist without me asking. She was never late to give me pain medicine when I needed it and would always come to me and do the little things like adjust my pillow or some of the medical items used on me. She spoke highly of my surgeon and shared positive comments with me on how I am in good hands and will come out of surgery and knowing I had made a good decision. I was a little apprehensive going into surgery and this was comforting to hear. I suppose I could go on and on with many other examples of what an awesome nurse Angie is, but I am sure you and anyone else who comes in contact with her already know....she is wonderful inside and out! Please share this with whomever you feel should see it. My whole experience at Elkhart General Hospital was a positive one and a very, very large part is due to Angie. This hospital hit the jackpot in finding her. Thank you!
