It's different when the roles are reversed, and the nurse becomes the patient. That is what happened to me. After my car accident, I had an abdominal wound with a wound vac. I had weight baring restrictions and needed Home Health to assist with my dressing changes. I ended up having to have Home Health for 4 months. Angela was my nurse and she was awesome! She always greeted me with a smile. She was a great listener when I had questions or concerns. Since we were part of each other’s lives for so long, we shared personal stories that made the visits enjoyable. I enjoyed the break from my mundane routine. Angela never made me feel like she was rushing out the door. She took her time with me and attended to my needs. Angela definitely deserves to be recognized for her hard work and her dedication to her patients.
