As a first-time mom in labor, I was really discouraged by how long it was taking to progress. Angie was the midwife on my induction, and she cheered me on all day as I walked and then had a heart-to-heart when I was deciding when to get pain relief on board. She is the type of nurse-midwife who makes you feel like you’re her only patient from the start.

I felt super comfortable with her, but knew she was only on until 7 p.m. She came in at shift change and told me she got it approved to stay overnight to deliver my baby for me because the connection we made was that important to me. The fact that Angie willingly extended her shift to make sure she could be the one to deliver my baby meant the absolute world to me! She is truly an incredible nurse-midwife. I’m so thankful to Mayo for having midwives on the team!
