I cannot say enough about Angela’s knowledge, professionalism, care, and compassion.
Angela is a fantastic nurse. I was admitted to the ER with high BP and chest pains. I was then admitted to the hospital for a stress test that led to a cath heart test. I was anxious with a high BP. My BP would not go down or it would spike the first few moments Angela came in the room, I told my husband, “Wow, she’s good.” Her knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail stood out. She anticipated my needs before I asked and had a way to communicate very genuine concern and encouragement. She calmed my nerves and relieved my stress by answering all my questions.
My two daughters are nurses, so I know how busy floor nurses are. Angela never made me feel rushed and answered all my questions. On the day of my heart cath, they moved up the time, so I had very little notice. She came in, helped me undress, take a shower, take heart wires off and on, and explained in detail what I needed to do including shaving. She put clean sheets on my bed and brought me clean clothes. I finished just in time to go to the cath lab. She encouraged me and smiled as I left and said she would be here when I returned. She was right there when I returned and anticipated all my needs in advance. She answered all my questions and concerns before and after and followed through on all requests and concerns to the doctor that I had, from questions to meds, changes to meds, how to lower my BP, etc.
She had a demeanor that put me to ease with genuine compassion, concern, and laughter. It was obvious this was a calling and not just a job. The day I was discharged, she made sure I was well-informed. I had about 6 questions on meds and concerns the day before and she had answers from the doctor on call. She thoroughly went through the discharge papers, which took time. She had 6 patients that day, but she made sure she took all the time needed to answer questions and make sure I knew what to do at home. I cannot say enough about Angela’s knowledge, professionalism, care, and compassion. After almost 4 days at the hospital, Angela stood out amongst all her peers. I’m very grateful she made a difference in my life.
