If you have ever been to 8HSP, you will find a fast-paced 55-bed sometimes 64-bed medical surgical unit. You will see staff taking care of all sorts of patients; psych, urology, bariatric, OB/GYN, general surgery and so much more. In the offices down the hall from the storage room, you will see two amazing leaders who support, guide, and motivate their staff each and every day. These two leaders aren't your ordinary leaders. Each day you will find Krisha and Angela going above and beyond not only to help patients but to support the staff on 8HSP. Their doors are always open and they welcome visits from staff and all members of the health care team. Whether it's a work problem, suggestions, practice questions, schedule concerns, personal problems or you're just needing to vent, they are always there to listen and help. You will always see Krisha and Angela doing things to make the staff's day better and less stressful. They help answer call lights, take patients to the bathroom, help with medications, help with challenging situations; they can even be seen fixing equipment on the floor. They have been seen taking laundry to the chute, fixing commodes, bassinets, printers, phones, changing batteries, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, even cleaning blood pressure machine wheels. They know their staff well and they can tell if you're not having a good day or if something is wrong just by looking at you. Krisha and Angela are true DAISY Nurse Leaders.
