Recently, I stayed with my two-year-old son after his tonsillectomy. My poor little guy was miserable. He wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, wouldn't talk.
Early the next morning, when Angela came in to give him medicine, he suddenly decided he was ready to talk. Our sweet nurse sat and listened to my little boy speak gibberish for likely half an hour. She didn't rush him, didn't seem uninterested, didn't even care that she couldn't understand a word.
This may seem trivial to some, and I'm sure Angela thought nothing of it - my son certainly will not remember, but it sure did mean so much to a very tired mother who was just so happy to see her little boy feeling better.
I would also like to mention that when my husband had to leave at 4:00 am that day to go to work after spending the night at the hospital, Angela was thoughtful enough to make him a cup of coffee to go.
I hope that Angela may be recognized for going above and beyond and touching the hearts of her patients.
