I highly commend Angela Schmidt for the meticulous attention she paid to every detail of my sister's care when she was in the ICU. Angela always tried to make my sister comfortable amid her extreme distress and she battled a myriad of ailments from pneumonia, through cardiac issues to a stroke. Angela took an extra measure of care and concern for my sister's well -being and consistently thought outside the box to ameliorate difficulties my sister had with speaking and eating.
I especially appreciated that she found a document that showed pictures of things a speech impaired patient could use to ask for things that are needed. Angela did a tremendously good job on my sister's behalf- always keeping the family informed about what she was doing and why she was doing it. Angela was instrumental in the care of my sister during a critical phase of her pneumonia diagnosis.
It is always expected that trained staff will perform duties with skill, but it is particularly reassuring to an anxious family to see their loved one tended to with kindness, compassion, and combined expertise during a critical time.
