Angela has been working in Critical Care since last May. She says she was humbled and blessed with the DAISY Award. "I work along so many deserving nurses. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this department, as my co-workers are beyond amazing."
Nominated by a patient's daughter, Angela was described as "a gift and a blessing to this department." Angela's care for her patient was recognized in the nomination letter, as the letter states that she treated the patient with genuine care andcompassion,as if the patient were her own mother. Angela adds, "I feel it is essential for us to treat our patients as we would treat our own family."
"I truly felt like she loved her job," her nominator writes, noting how attentive and selfless Angela was. Angela went above and beyond, visiting the nominator when she left to go sleep for a little while.
"I think when we take the time to do the little things, it can make all the difference to someone in need," Angela says. "Blessings to all of the wonderful nurses out there, as Mayo Clinic Health System is full of them."
