I want to recognize RN Angela Welch Robinson for her incredibly kind and compassionate care of her patient during a rapid response this morning. The patient was desatting and very anxious. She wasn’t letting the BRT team do an IV or ABG or really touch her. Miss Angela was so kind; she leaned in and gently talked to her into letting us care for her. Angela held her hand and calmed her down. She totally turned around the care for this patient and how this patient was experiencing the care. Witnessing this extraordinary tenderness and compassion literally made me tear up.

I met Angela when I became the Manager for 6B two years ago. I immediately noted that Angela is a very strong-willed and assertive nurse. Angela loves to be in charge because she is a great advocate for her unit, her co-workers, and her patients. She is the first one to say something about any situation that she thinks is not okay and will advocate until she is heard. Sometimes, even when she thinks no one is listening! Angela is a nurse that nurses want on their team when things are going wrong because she will stand with you to advocate for what needs to be done and gives other nurses the confidence that is needed to face the issue and get through it. Angela also has a fun-loving side to her that is infectious. Especially if you want to learn how to dance!
