My son was a patient here at the hospital and he told me that his nurse was "the best nurse he ever had". My son has been in and out of the hospital since he was born. He was born with a heart problem and has had seven surgeries. He had a heart transplant in 2004. Every time I came to visit him, he spoke extremely highly of Angie. When I would visit him, Angie made me feel right at home. She made my son laugh which was great to see, because he suffers from depression due to the suicides of his grandmother, father and brother. He told me that Angie would actually sit down and just talk "to" him and not "at" him. He had a wound on his ankle and she wrapped it in a way that was comfortable for him because it is painful.

Angie "always" had a smile on her face even when the unit was extremely busy. She even shared personal stories about her parent's transplant and he felt that she really cared because she shared a part of her life with him. Angie made sure he understood what was going on especially, when he was diagnosed with C-diff. The thought terrified me and then Angie sat with us and explained what this was and made us feel at ease.

Just to see my son laugh made me feel that he was in the best hands. Angie held his hand as well as mine. Angie told him jokes and he laughed and laughed which made me feel great. You have a great nurse and it feels good to know that this nurse took such great care of my son. He has suffered throughout his life and Angie brought him such joy.
