Angie Wilson provided care to a young homeless female patient who was ill. The patient and her significant other were traveling cross country in a truck. The truck was out of gas at Cracker Barrel. The significant other said they were out of money. The patient stated she only had the clothes she had worn into the hospital, and she had no shoes. It was very hard to see the patient and significant other in this shape. Angie purchased this patient flip-flops, Velcro shoes, underwear, dress gown, pj’s, top, and shorts. The patient was overjoyed at the gift of clothing. Angie felt this patient needed this boost of help to assist the patient mentally and spiritually. Angie wanted the patient to know someone did care about her. She is always doing things like this that go unrecognized. I nominated Angelia Wilson for the DAISY Award not only for this one episode of compassion and kindness but several others like this one that she has gone above and beyond in helping her patients out in their time of need.

Thank you, Angela, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
