Angelica was with me the whole time to help calm me down, make me feel less stressed, and try to make me understand what was happening at all times. She was absolutely phenomenal.
I was admitted to the hospital to deliver my first child in November. After an extremely stressful 16 hours, I was dilated enough to be able to push the baby. Angelica joined the morning shift at 7am, after a time I had been awake all night, as my baby’s heart rate was constantly up and down, so the nurses, doctors, and residents were constantly in and out of the room. Angelica stepped in and went above and beyond to calm me down, help me push for 3 hours, and constantly encourage me. She tried several different techniques to help me and try to make it easier for me, given she knew how many hours I’d already been in the hospital.

Unfortunately, after 3 hours, I could no longer push, so I was taken for a C-section. Angelica was with me the whole time to help calm me down, make me feel less stressed, and try to make me understand what was happening at all times. She was absolutely phenomenal. I was extremely exhausted and tired through my surgery. I was shaking throughout, and she kept checking in on me and reminding me that I was going to see the baby really soon.

After the operation, she took care of me for 2 hours and ensured that I could hold baby and she was a constant support throughout. I cannot thank labor and delivery in Hackensack Hospital enough, and Angelica was literally an angel sent as my nurse to help me deliver my baby. I was exhausted, I was freighted, I was scared after the night we went through, this was my first experience giving birth and Angelica’s calmness, positivity, warmth, positive energy and amazing attitude is what helped me get through the surgery and meet my baby.

Once I was moved to recovery, Angelica came to meet the baby and me to see how we were doing, it was so heart-touching that she cared so much, and that care was so deep and evident throughout. I honestly cannot thank Angelica enough for being by our side and we feel blessed for her to be working on that day. She stood out as a nurse who went absolutely above and beyond her role, and everyone who receives Angelica’s care is, in my opinion, the luckiest patient in Labor and Delivery!
