I would like to recognize Angelina Hamed for the DAISY Award for the incredible care she provided to my loved one and our entire family during one of the hardest times of our lives.

Our loved one was admitted to the ICU on 7 Cooley A, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt overwhelming. The machines, the alarms, and the uncertainty surrounding their condition left us frightened, exhausted, and unsure how we were going to get through it.

Then we met Angelina.

From the very beginning, she brought a sense of calm into a room filled with fear. She cared for our loved one with extraordinary gentleness and attention, always ensuring they were comfortable and treated with dignity, no matter how critical the situation became.

What we will never forget, however, is the way Angelina cared for our family.

Without us ever having to say a word, she recognized how scared we were. She took the time to explain what was happening, answered every question with patience, and never once made us feel like we were asking too much. During moments when we felt completely overwhelmed, she grounded us with her compassion, reassurance, and steady presence.

I remember sitting at the bedside feeling utterly helpless when Angelina quietly came over to check on us. She asked if we were okay and gently reminded us that our loved one was not alone. Those simple words brought comfort at a time when we desperately needed it.

Angelina did far more than care for a critically ill patient. She cared for an entire family navigating one of the darkest moments of our lives. She brought light, hope, and humanity into an experience that otherwise felt consumed by fear.

Because of Angelina, we found moments of peace in the midst of chaos. Because of her, we felt supported, seen, and genuinely cared for.

There are good nurses, and then there are nurses whose compassion leaves a permanent mark on the lives of the families they serve. Angelina is one of those nurses.

She embodies everything the DAISY Award represents through her exceptional clinical care, unwavering compassion, and extraordinary ability to care not only for her patients, but also for the people who love them. Our family will never forget the comfort she gave us, and we are forever grateful for the difference she made during one of the most difficult chapters of our lives.

She is profoundly deserving of this recognition.
