Service with a smile! sums up Angelique and her incredible work ethic. I first met Angelique 5 years ago and she was the first nurse assigned to me as I came out of Fellowship. I remember how she made it such an easy adjustment by helping out whenever and wherever she could. She would stay late to make sure patients had everything they needed and I remember her fighting with insurance companies to get them their medications. Angelique then moved to Japan for a few years while her husband was on deployment there but everyone in our division always hoped she would come back and luckily for us, she did! In our division, each nurse is assigned to one provider but Angelique will do whatever she can to help out other providers as well, especially if his/her nurse is sick or on vacation. I see Angelique interacting with my patients day in and day out and genuinely showing empathy and compassion for their illnesses, whether it is minor reflux, constipation, or severe inflammatory bowel disease. My patients do ask for Angelique by name but I think what really puts them at ease is her jovial personality. I believe it sets the tone for the entire visit which makes my job as the physician easier. Angelique is a true DAISY Nurse!
