I would like to nominate this nurse for the DAISY Award because of the compassion, patience, and dignity she showed a patient. That patient had not had a bath in 10 days. When she first offered to help him bathe, he was not ready and told her to come back. Like a true bath time warrior, she lovingly encouraged him and basically said, "Sir, we are not letting day 11 happen on my watch." The patient then said something that hit everyone right in the heart: "I don't want to die smelling dirty." Because of her, this patient got more than a bath; he got dignity, compassion, and probably the freshest comeback story.
