I was honestly thrilled to see her because I knew she would be transparent about the situation and talk me through everything, as this was my first baby.
I was first sent to the hospital with pre-eclampsia symptoms at 37 weeks, and Angie was my nurse. She was very informative and talked me through everything before it happened. I felt very calm and trusted what she had to say. I was then released that same day. Fast forward a week, and I went back in because my water had broken, and Angie was my nurse again. I was honestly thrilled to see her because I knew she would be transparent about the situation and talk me through everything, as this was my first baby. And I was right. She was absolutely amazing! She was able to get me into a cordless monitoring room, allowing me to remain mobile. She brought in birthing balls and helped change positions to help kick-start contractions. She has an amazing personality and bedside manner. She took her time, talking with us, joking with us, and answering any and all questions. As I was progressing to the end of labor, she stayed past her shift time just to see me through. My husband and I truly appreciate everything Angie did for us during one of the most exciting and scary moments of our lives.

Angie started with us when we were unexpectedly admitted for delivery. Angie and I are coworkers and had plans for her to help with my delivery. Plans we had joked and teased about for months, and our delivery was anything but planned. I was so relieved that Angie was working when we got sent to MCHU. Angie kept calm and got us moving, knowing the situation was urgent. I’ll never forget Angie rolling us back to the OR, holding my hand as I went to sleep, and as I woke up from anesthesia. I can still hear someone say, “I got you, baby girl.” She whispered to me several times during this scary time, which calmed me more than she will ever know. She stayed by my side, kept my significant other informed, and helped with my baby, all things for which I am forever grateful. Angie continues to check in on us as we recover at home.
