Angie is a great nurse! She not only takes care of her patients but also her fellow co-workers when we need it. She is very efficient and passionate about nursing and it shows in all she does. She is intelligent and is a great educator with new policies and procedures.
During the tornado disaster relief in Pella this spring/summer, Angie took initiative by helping the nursing shift supervisor to direct staff to the appropriate areas of need and maximizes staff efficiency for the unknown number of casualties from Vermeer.
Angie is very diverse in her clinical experiences. She has worked in ER, OB, MS, ICU, and pediatric home care. She has helped and encourages many new nurses with sharpening their skills and she is a PICC nurse for PRHC. Angie has also served in the charge nurse role and nursing shift supervisor role.
She stays up to date on current issues in the nursing field. Angie serves selflessly as a peer preceptor for her coworkers, new hires, and students. She ensures best practice, safety, and collaboration of the patient care team. She has a straight forward approach and allows others to form critical thinking skills without fear of humiliation, degradation, or punishment. Angie also shows dedication to the nursing profession with compassion to patients, families, peers, and the community through her selfless service at work and in her community, specifically her work with Share Iowa Food shelter.
