November 2021 Honoree
Angie Starbuck, BSN RN
There are so many situations Angie has demonstrated the most compassionate, kind, and caring behavior with patients and families and her co-workers. Day in and out I have worked by her side and witnessed her holding a patient's hand during a difficult time, taking extra time to just listen to her patients' problems, being there to help her co-worker out, and applying her years of experience and knowledge.
Just recently we took a patient upstairs to MSU. After helping me settle the patient, she immediately attended to a call light. A patient was confused and trying to get out of bed. She calmly and kindly helped ease the disoriented patient's fears and anxiety and prevented a fall. She didn't stop there. She ran to another room and she heard another confused patient yelling for help. Again she helped to re-orient and calm this patient, helped an over-worked busy unit avoid a harmful accident. You can always count on Angie to go above and beyond. Thank you, Angie, for being an amazing role model.
