My daughter was born as a preterm baby in the 27th week of pregnancy, and she was admitted to the NICU for more than two months. On the second day of her life, Anie Alex was the caretaker of my baby. She noticed some abnormal distension in her tiny abdomen during her physical examination and informed the doctor immediately. It was pneumoperitoneum, and they did an emergency surgical penrose drain for her. If she did not notice it, what would have happened? Moreover, they had to put her on a ventilator. As new parents, me and my husband were panicked and hopeless when we saw all these tubings. Anie explained everything in a positive way and gave us hope. Her way of behavior and supportive nature brought sunlight to our darkened lives.

During the whole stay in the NICU, she was so kind and empathetic towards us. She always encouraged us to pray and motivated us to be prepared to take care of our preterm baby. That is what parents of a sick newborn really need. She is the real gem of the NICU.
