I am here to tell you what a wonderful nurse Ms. Anita is. I've been in bad health for many years and been in over a dozen hospitals. And I have never been treated so well by a nurse. If I asked about my condition, she was more than willing to explain. She didn't talk down to me (as if I were a child) yet explained so I could understand. She told me what was in my IVs. What they were supposed to do for me. My medication was shown to me, explained. I knew what each one was for, what it looked like. When they took blood, swabs, or anything else, she told me why. She told me what they were checking for. If they found something she told me about it. When she checked my vitals, she told me what they were, if they were up or down from the last time. She didn't just walk in, take my vitals, say thank you and walk out. She kept her eye on my blood oxygen levels after they took me off oxygen to see how I responded. She went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. And not just me, I saw her doing the same for others. I had to walk around the halls sometimes because I would get stiff lying in bed too long. When I asked her something she didn't give me the old line, "your doctor will explain everything when she gets here" or "ask your doctor about it". Treating you as an ignorant elderly person. By the time the doctor gets there and tells you what she has to tell you, you've forgotten what you had to ask. You're so busy trying to remember all she has to say, that the questions go right out of your head. Anita would contact the doctor for me and come back as soon as she found out the answer I was looking for. She took the time to make me feel at ease. I never felt more in good hands than when she was there. I felt informed, less stressed, and way less fearful than I have ever felt in a hospital. The compassion she shows is beyond compare. This woman deserves a medal! Thank you for hearing me out!
