We first met Anjanette when my mom was in another unit. The nurse floated from another department and my mom got lucky to have such an awesome and knowledgeable nurse. I instantly felt welcomed, and she updated me about my mom’s care. She also was able to effectively talk to my mom about being intubated and her possible outcome once that happened. Since she worked in the other department that helped my mother make the hard choice to chance being incubated for her Cath procedure.

This nurse reassured my mom she would be her nurse afterward. I was so happy when they picked up mom and Anjanette was there to take her from one unit to the other. This nurse helped my mom by talking to her and letting her know everything the team was doing. She told my mom that she would keep her as comfortable as possible. Reassuring my mom helped me and my husband feel comfortable to go home to take care of my father since mom was in excellent caring hands.

I am a nurse. After talking with Anjanette, I found out she was born in the hospital I worked in the newborn nursery. We chatted about the possibility I took care of her as a baby. What a small world. In some way, I felt I had connected with her. Being a nurse, I too received a DAISY Award and I know what it takes to be an extraordinary Nurse. Thank you!

Thank you, Anjanette, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
