Ann had an excellent bedside manner, a gentle voice jovial disposition, and a good sense of humor.
One evening my 17-year-old daughter clutched her chest while I was driving and started yelling “my chest, my chest hurts.” And she started buckling over in her seat. I immediately took her to the ER. By the time we got there her chest pain had ceased we were both still so anxiety-struck because we didn't know what was wrong. We didn't know if she was about to have a heart attack or what. We were so scared.

My daughter's nurse, Ann, really stood out with her warmth and compassion. She had an excellent bedside manner, a gentle voice jovial disposition, and a good sense of humor. All these qualities were so appreciated, and she was really able to put my daughter at ease during her stressful night. She explained everything thoroughly so that my daughter wasn't taken off guard. She was telling us stories and laughing about things and asking my daughter questions to keep her mind off the needle when her blood was being taken. And it really helped!

My daughter kept saying I really like her. Ann kept asking how my daughter was feeling and letting us know that it was totally okay for us to push the call button if any concerns arose at any time. We felt free to do so as needed and Ann never got irritated or short with us she was just as pleasant all throughout. As it turns out, it was the end of Ann’s shift and we were her last patient. I couldn't believe she was so pleasant and cheerful still at the end of a long day. I would have thought she had just come in by how energetic and bubbly she was.

My daughter ended up being fine and we were discharged later. We left feeling relieved and calm. I want to thank Ann because her little acts of kindness made our worrisome night much better and we truly appreciated it.
