It was apparent from the moment we met that Ann is one of the most caring and genuine healthcare professionals that I have ever met (I worked as an EMT and later as a global health professional in 7 countries). In addition to excellent medical care, she listened to me and gave advice about recovery that could have easily come from my own relatives. Ann is truly an empathetic person. All of the nurses at LE Phillips were great of course, but Ann stood out. She took the time to remind me of the possibilities post-recovery that awaited me and challenged me to think outside of the dreariness and boredom of sitting in a hospital bed for several days. She was quick to form a rapport with myself and other patients, and I knew, without a doubt, that Ann was committed to helping her patients as much as possible. Obviously, detox is an unpleasant experience but Ann made it better whenever she was around.
