When it comes to clinical expertise, Ann Marie is top-notch; she is one of the "go-to's" when it comes to knowing a process or how to do something. She understands our policies and is up to date on them. In a crisis or emergent situation, you want Ann Marie working that day. Her kindness and caring for our patients are unparalleled. Once we had a transgender patient who didn't have their makeup or hair color so Ann Marie went to the store and bought the patient some things to make them feel pretty. She also made a "to-do star" board to help encourage a patient to do things. They got a star for every time they accomplished something.
Her generosity spreads to her co-workers. When the floor is in need of a pick-me-up, Ann Marie often buys lunch for the whole floor. Her nursing skills are beyond remarkable. When she is working, she makes others want to do their best and be the best nurse they can be.
