Ann Paradise consistently demonstrates I-CARE every single day with every single patient. For instance, we have a patient Mr. G who has been violent in the past with the nurses, but Annie consistently treats him with respect by addressing his needs in a calm, cooperative, and caring manner. She is never dismissive or defensive even when she has the most "frustrating" patients. I remember when one patient was screaming at the top of his lungs at me and she stepped in and was able to de-escalate the patient in a calm and controlled manner.

She goes above and beyond with commitment towards her patients and our team. Even though she had pneumonia, she still strived to come to work and provide the best care to our patients. She always takes extra shifts and provides the help the unit needs to make our Veterans' stay excellent.

She is always patient and kind, but will do whatever she can to stick up for a patient, another nurse, or a team member. She always makes sure her patients get the "little things" such as fingernails cut and beards shaved. Little things are big things for our patients. And I know that they are big things for patients also. They/we really appreciate all the hard work Annie does each and every single day. Not just one patient or one instance. She is consistently a wonderful nurse.
