I would like to nominate Dr. Ann Schreier for the DAISY Faculty Award at the doctoral level. Since joining the department of nursing science, Ann has demonstrated her ability to mentor students and junior faculty. Whether they are PhD students or undergraduate honors students, Ann goes the extra mile to listen and guide the student to reach their goals. She teaches several courses that are well received by students and students seek her out to guide their dissertation work. Her collaboration with the Medical School on a grant to address the needs of women at risk for breast cancer has been important work and she has involved students in this work. She serves as a role model of professional nursing and has a high level of integrity and is a valuable colleague.
